Election Resources and Information

Kentucky Secretary of State

The Kentucky Secretary of State is an elected official responsible for managing state records, business registrations, notary appointments, and election-related tasks, while also promoting civic engagement and providing accurate voter information.

Kentucky Legislative Research Center

The Kentucky Legislative Research Commission (LRC) is a nonpartisan agency that provides essential research, analysis, and support services to the Kentucky General Assembly, aiding legislators in making informed decisions on legislative matters. The LRC conducts research, drafts bills and resolutions, offers legal guidance, and assists in various aspects of the legislative process to facilitate effective lawmaking in the state.

Franklin County Clerk

The Franklin County Clerk is responsible for a range of administrative and record-keeping functions. This includes maintaining official records such as property deeds, mortgages, and various legal documents, as well as managing vehicle registrations, issuing driver's licenses, and overseeing elections by processing voter registrations and coordinating polling locations. The clerk's office also handles marriage licenses, business registrations, and documents.

Franklin County Sample Ballot

The Secretary of State provides sample ballots to promote transparency and inform voters about the upcoming elections. Sample ballots are mock versions of the actual ballots that voters will encounter on Election Day. They list the candidates, measures, and issues that will appear on the ballot, allowing voters to preview and familiarize themselves with their choices before casting their votes. This helps voters make informed decisions and reduces confusion or uncertainty at the polling place, ultimately contributing to a more participatory and effective democratic process.
