Mission Statement
Together Frankfort is a non-partisan, volunteer group of Kentuckians who seek to exercise and protect the principles embodied in our nation’s Constitution by being engaged and responsible participants in democracy. We advocate for integrity in government, and fair and equal application of the law and civil rights for all people. We support economic and social policies that ensure continuing opportunity for individuals and families. We advocate that health care is a fundamental right. We oppose the influence of corporate and unidentified money in our political processes, and the divisive partisanship that obstructs effective governing, because these factors undermine the foundations of our democracy. We are committed to our country and to the welfare of our fellow citizens regardless of political affiliation.
History
Together Frankfort was organized in 2017 by a group of volunteers concerned about the state of our elections. A community meeting established two main goals for the group: register people to vote and provide accurate and timely information to educate voters.
Together Frankfort’s efforts to accomplish those goals are extensive. We have organized candidate forums and public discussions of a wide range of issues with expert panels. Together Frankfort has sponsored demonstrations, letter-writing campaigns, and community events such as Earth Day and Juneteenth with partner organizations. Above all, voter registration events are held throughout the community at every opportunity
