Join Us Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Ward Oates Amphitheater in Frankfort's Beautiful River View Park to Honor Local Businesses, Organizations & Schools working to Sustain our Precious Planet!

On April 22, (Earth Day) 2023 citizens of Frankfort

and Franklin County have an opportunity

to celebrate the beauty of our planet

and learn about what local businesses,

organizations and schools

are doing for our community and our environment.

This will be the 53rd Earth Day since its inception in 1970.

Together Frankfort, along with our many partners, is planning an event at Frankfort's River View Park, 10 AM to 1 PM, to honor those businesses, organizations and schools with certificates of appreciation for their efforts to help make Frankfort a cleaner, safer and healthier community.

These efforts range from:

 -  recycling, conserving energy and composting to using solar energy (Completely Kentucky) and

 -  restoring old buildings for community use (Yes Arts).

Together Frankfort member and local artist, Karen Carey, has designed a beautiful certificate that will list what each participant is doing and can be displayed in their windows so everyone can see and appreciate the efforts being made.

In addition to awarding certificates of appreciation from 10 AM until 1 PM, at least 25 tables will be set up
along the sidewalk of River View Park with organizations and schools sharing information about what they do for the community

and ways you may become involved.

Among those setting up tables are:

Visitors to each table will be eligible for a drawing for one of these prizes!

  • $50.00 gift certificate from Locals,
  • $25.00 gift certificate from Wild Birds Unlimited
  • $25.00 gift certificate from Completely Kentucky.

Mayor Layne Wilkerson and Judge Executive Michael Mueller (pictured at left) will be signing an Earth Day Proclamation at noon, music will be provided by Nate Orshan, and Andy McDonald will share information about solar energy. There will be a storyteller, Hannah Helm, a talk about living simply by Charles Pearl and information shared about Wild Birds Unlimited by Kristen Nelson. Middle School students from Second Street School are creating a ‘picture frame’ that will be available for selfies and picture taking thanks to their Art teacher Dana Parker.

With the Franklin County Farmer’s Market opening on the same day, and Yes Arts planning an anniversary celebration that afternoon, it would be a shame if you were so close to River View Park and didn’t check us out!

So .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

A fun day for all. Of course, if it rains, the Earth Day celebration will be canceled, and we will have to celebrate from a distance!!

Welcome New Members of Together Frankfort!

Together Frankfort is embarking on its 6th year of existence. We launched our first membership drive in April 2022 and now have a growing list of dues paying members (click here for the most recent membership list). We can better plan our activities with funds from dues paying members and from donations.

Because we started the membership campaign over one year ago, many of our memberships are coming up for renewal.  Each member should receive a notice, automatically, 7 days before their membership fees are due.

Thank you for everyone who has joined. We challenge you to recruit two more members!

Notify Me notifies citizens of upcoming meetings.

In addition to joining as members, several folks have made donations to support our work.  You can make a donation through the link below, using Venmo, PayPal, or a credit card
