Teri Carter, Together Frankfort Keynote Speaker, 2023 Annual Meeting

Teri Carter, Writer & Activist - Keynote Speaker

Teri Carter, Writer & Activist - Keynote Speaker

Teri Carter writes for The Washington Post, the Herald-Leader, the Courier Journal and newspapers all over the country about rural life and Kentucky politics. She’s written boldly about women’s rights, COVID-19, hate groups and racism, addiction, abortion, family fights over Trumpism, teachers’ rights, religious extremists, county government, gun culture, the dangers of toxic masculinity, and more.

Last year, even though she is an outspoken progressive, Teri ran in the Republican primary for county magistrate to see if it was still possible for voters to to choose the best person, not party, for elected office. She lost, but she used her platform as a candidate to talk candidly with Republicans about everything from abortion to guns, and to publicly challenge the Anderson County Attorney, the local Fraternal Order of Police, and even her own newspaper editor.

Together Frankfort encourages you to read some of her 2022 articles:
